anyone heard of this guy?

wasn't me phew

(but que looks game, maybe. try it out and be the first to tell)

I've seen a few of those around town but I've never met the guy that is making and selling them.

dead money if you dont mind where is around town? also what do you guys think of the price, 300 for a plain jane from an unknown, is this pretty standard? he said he makes 60 a year and only sells on ebay, either of those things sound out of the ordinary? thanks for the replies, i'm thinking about picking up that cue and trying it out.

I asked the seller if they were American made and here is his answer:

"They are half and half. All parts, woods designs are from here. Inlays are done in the Philippines and I bring them back here for final finish".

Not at all. Around town = Austin Texas. I've seen at least three or four of these Kuliat cues now. All seem stylish and well made and the one that I hit some balls with was pretty solid. Can't give an opinion about how well they hold up or what the real value of them is though.

hmm perhaps he was less than straight forward with me, he said he made them all by hand but as of recently he has had a friend helping with the inlays since he has been so busy, i didnt ask but i assumed the friend was in town, certainly in america...

ran into him again today, he said they are hand made, by a guy he knows in the Philippines. hit nice, pretty heavy though, he said he just makes them at whatever weight they turn out naturally rather than trying to create a specific weight.

unrelated but dead money if you read this, where do you play?

I play down at Slick Willie's on South Lamar a lot, plus I sometimes hit balls over at Click's on North Lamar and the place on Manchaca called Stardust. If You play the Sunday night tourney at Slick's South very often odds are we know each other.

Phil Jones.

nah i'm not on the tournament level lol, i play up north, jekel and hyde's (formerly barneys), rack daddy's, slicks on burnet, clicks n. lamar, etc.

after searching a little i am reading that there is a possibility that these as well as other cues are from a source in Philippines and are not so custom. anyone else heard this or have reason to believe its true? curious why he would prefer to sell only on ebay rather than to local players?

Haha I'm not on the tournament level either lol. Depending on who shows up I am often a member of the "two and through crew":D Maybe I'll bump into ya somewhere sometime and we can play a bit:)
