Anyone know anything about this cue?

I'm posting this for a friend. She said this was her grandpa's cue, and that she knows it's at least around 50 years old.

There are absolutely no names or markings on it (at least none that I can find).

Note the oddity in that the screw pin is in the shaft, and not the butt. I've never seen a cue like this before. Anyone have any ideas?

Tell your friend to mount it on a wall and enjoy the fond memories of grandpa every time she looks at it.
