Anyone seen this site?

Do not really care for any of them. Do Not Like. I have cheap framed posters I think are better art.

I like billiard prints and paintings, but this work doesn't do anything for me.
Anyone here like it, or own pieces from him?
I'd rather have a new Diamond table than any of those paintings. I know the price of art is subjective, but the prices are ridiculous considering most pool players are notorious cheap skates. I might buy a poster print of some of those for $30 or so.

I appreciate the effort and skill; I certainly couldn’t do something more than a stick figure. I would be inclined to spend my money on a pool painting.

However, I would want it to capture the spirit of the game I love. The picture, “My Turn” was priced at what, 7 grand. I’d have to work a lot of Saturdays to hang that over my fireplace. What aspect of the game does it bring to the forefront? Well, if you look at one of the close up shots, it looks like there may be a skinny girl bent over in the hallway beyond the table. Really got their finger on the pulse there.

“The Secret World of Pool,” is pretty cool. I like that it shows the reflection in the ball. That, to me, captures the essence of the game. Sometimes when I’m down on the shot, I see the reflection of myself and the cue stick in the cue ball; and in that moment I know I can’t miss. This dude, or dudette, chose the wrong stinking perspective. It shows the reflection from the stands not the shooter. That tells me they ain’t a player. Still a cool picture, but not 3 grand worth.

Just thought about this though. I bagged on the guy for failing to show the shooter’s perspective. It wasn’t a reflection of the cue ball though, it was in the 8 ball.

So... it showed the perspective from the pocket as the shooter lines up on the money ball and the crowd is ready to rejoice when the ball falls.

Not as cool as a view from the shoiter’s perspective, but cooler than I gave him credit for. Still not 3 thousand dollars worth.

The art is consistent to the style.

Appreciating a new art style is like being happy winning with Ball in Hand on the 9.

Everyone is so used to "corporate art messages."

This came at a good time because I am currently studying Lambertian reflections and specular reflection.

Great Post, but not a great post for the general pool community.

museum pieces huh?

2005 controversyEdit

In 2005, Robins was accused of illegally placing art on the walls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The works supposedly threatened the President George W. Bush and included a written letter and white powder. Arthur was detained at the Museum. Later that night, 5 detectives entered Arthur’s apartment and interrogated him at length. Arthur recorded this event and the story ended up on the front page of The New York Times.[8][9] Robins was never charged. This story led him to be asked to play himself in a film called This Revolution, a docudrama on events related to this issue.[10]

do not like, the people in all the paintings just look creepy and alien like.
He appears to be a Children's artist....did some books and paintings. Absolutely not world class or "great" class but he believes in himself. Anyone that pays more than $25-50 should seek help. This poster is serious art... My buddy had it in his clothes store window... Loved it and bought it and bought 2. My favorite and not for sale ....or would consider trading for a Bushka or Gus hehe

I mean he seems to have sold a few, so he's probably pretty happy.

I wouldn't spend that kind of money on art unless I knew a bit more about what I was doing, and had good reason to think it would retain its value.
