APA 8-Ball Rules Question

Can you call safe and pot a ball? Also, can you tell me where I can get a copy of the APA 8-ball rules? I looked on their site and could not see a link. Thanks.

depends...what ball are you making? you cannot make one of your own and call safety. you can hit your ball and make one of the opponents balls and call safety.

No, apa plays slop 8 ball. You make one of your balls you're still shooting.

True, you can call safe, pocket one of your balls and keep shooting. It should be marked on the score sheet as a safe since that was your intention. The APA does not make you call safe before shots, only after should you let the score keeper know that last shot was an attempted safe. Most don't even do that though. I always let the score keeper know when I play a safe but only after the shot.
