Apply a Predator Z2 sticker/watermark?

No Limit

I just got back my cue butt along with the partial Z2 shaft the cue maker fitted to it, but he mentioned he returned the Z2 sticker saying he didn't know how to put it on. Does it matter if the watermark is on the shaft if I need to sell the shaft or return it for repairs. I thought it would peel off like a sticker, but it looks like there's no way for me to get the Z2 logo onto the shaft.

BTW, I played with the Z2 and a 1st Gen 314. So far I'm liking the hit of the Z2 more, but I'm trying to get a feel for the 314 too.

The stickers I use on my custom fishing rods are hard to get the backing off. Usually use a piece of scotch tape jet barely tacked on the the back and front, then pull apart. Using fingers just leaves prints. If he sent the sticker back, ??? I am at a loss to tell you what to do. Most pool players will want to see the sticker, just as a precaution.

No logo...No warranty.

I've already written extensively on the application of the decals.
It's not rocket science. You (an your CM) would be amazed at how easy it is to do.
BTW, they go UNDER the finish, no on top of it.

I would send my shaft back to my cue maker, but he's in Colorado, I'm in California, and he's a little bit of a pain to deal with. Could I just send my Z2 shaft and the watermark to you and have you apply it for me? Just let me know how much it would cost to do this.

When I read this, the highlighted sentence jumped out at me.

All it takes is a phone call. I'm sure someone at Predator would have been able to explain to him how to apply the sticker.

Or why even take the time to send the sticker back ? Why not just give the sticker to you ?

Maybe I'm in the minority here. Just seems odd to me.............

Here's the whole back story to this. 2 months ago I bought a partial Z2 shaft from BilliardsWarehouse and it came with the shaft along with the sticker in a separate plastic envelope. I wanted this fitted to my Greg Sirca cue. I gave Greg a call to see if he can fit the shaft to my cue that he made. He said sure and I sent the cue along with the partial Z2 shaft to him. After 2 months of e-mailing back and forth along with a couple of phone calls, he finally finishes fitting the shaft to my cue butt and sends it back. I inspected the shaft and noticed the predator sticker wasn't there. I e-mailed Greg and he told me he didn't know how to put the sticker on so he included it back when he sent my cue and shaft back.

Ok. You have the sticker, then ?

The way it read ("the cuemaker mentioned...") led me to believe that the CUEMAKER sent it back to the factory.

Yeah. I tried to peel the backing off, but it looks like it won't go. I just need instructions on how to apply the sticker.

Predator has basically two types of decals still in the hands of dealers and some CMs.
The new version is a thin plastic film on a white hard-paper backing.
It's a 'wet-type' meaning that you wet the back, let it set a few secs and slide the decal off, onto the shaft.

The previous version was a 'dry-apply' type and read backwards on the backing.
With this type, remove the thin paper on top. Place the decal face down on the shaft
and rub the hard-paper backing with a hard small object until the decal is transferred to the shaft.
With either type, shoot finish over it and you're done.

The application for the Predator logo sounds just like how my kids put those fake tattoos on themselves.

Where can I get finish from? Lowe's, Home Depot? And which one is appropriate for a cue shaft?
