Appreciation for the existing pre-IPT tours/events

In light of all the things that have happened with the IPT, and what looks more and more everyday like the end of the IPT, I think it is a good time to express gratitude and appreciation for the other events that are/have been around. Kevin Trudeau tried to sweep these other guys under the rug. I don't want to say they were forgotten, as I know the hardcore enthusiasts here would never forget, but I feel like Kevin tried as much as he could to make us forget with his promises of big bucks, and his mention of possible exclusivity contracts.

This is to thank those who have put on other major events. OK, so maybe their $$$ promises aren't as big as the IPT, but at least they will pay. I'm probably going to forget some, so feel free to add, but here are the ones that come to mind:

-Greg Sullivan/Diamond Billiard Products, for the Derby City Classic
-Barry Behrman, for the US Open
-BCA, for the (as of this year) EnjoyPool.com 9-Ball Championships
-Whoever is responsible for the World Pool Championships, Mosconi Cup, etc.
-New events like this year's World Cup of Pool

It really is too bad that the IPT didn't work out as well as it could have. Whether or not the IPT sticks around (bet on NOT), I think these guys should get the appreciation they deserve. Hopefully, they can continue to put on these great events. I know it is hard (I remember reading a story where I believe Greg Sullivan said the DCC has been a money losing proposition for him), but it is clear they are doing these events for the pool players and fans.
