Here are pics of the cue that Arnot ( http://www.arnotq.com ) built to my specs and recently delivered. More detailed pics at: http://www.arnotq.com/pages/842/

Forearm: gaboon ebony
Points: cocobolo with maple/ebony/maple veneers
Butt sleeve: ebony
Joint and butt cap: black linen based fibre
Pin: radial
Rings: maple/ebony at joints and butt cap
Wrap: black sharkskin
Shaft: laminated T3
Ferrule: ivory
Tip: Kamui soft black @ 12.75mm
Weight: 19.6 oz
Balance: 191/4" from cap
With only a half dozen or so hours of test drive, I'm more than happy with the feel and hit of the cue… others might see it different but my opinion has it hitting firm and solid with a pleasing sound
As far as Arnot's workmanship… it's excellent! All joints are perfectly flush and his attention to detail is without fail to my eyes. Further, and without exaggeration, finding the seam in the wrap would require a better naked eye than mine.
The finish is crystal clear and without flaw.
The shaft (getting back to the subjective) is my 2nd T3 and, in my opinion, an absolute pleasure to hit with. It definitely hits with less deflection than most of the shafts I'm familiar with. However, there's way too many shafts out there that I haven't hit with to truly rate it beyond that.
Apart from delivering the cue exactly as I asked for, dealing with Arnot was also a true pleasure to work with. The ordering of the cue was done from the Bahamas by phone and email… however, Arnot's willingness to communicate made the process painless. AND, to top it off, the completion date was as promised.
Folks, Arnot's one of us that ain't all that pretty to look at, but as a man of his word and a cuemaker, he's aces in my book.
Thanks,
Bob Hyde
