Ash cue shaft

Recently purchased a cue with multiple shafts from a member on here that came with an ash shaft as one of the shafts. While I really didn't purchase the cue for the included shafts, I had to try the ash shaft out as I had never seen one. The shaft was 13.1 mm, very straight grained, and seemed to be like new, with a new tip on that appeared to be a triangle. It hit and felt pretty good, but with more deflection than my Jacoby ultra's. As most all of my shafts are in the 12,6 to 12.75 mm range, I took it to the shop and brought the shaft taper down to 12.7 mm.
Gotta say, I really like this shaft and will probably use it for my bar league shooting. There is just a touch of vibration at times though, but at 12.7 now, the deflection seems somewhat better, or possibly I just think it is better. Who knows, but I do like it where it is at. Do I like it as much as my Jacoby Ultra shafts, no, The Jacoby Ultra have zero felt vibration and I feel less deflection. Also, my Jacoby shafts are 30", a length I like best, and have room for on my other league shooting. The bar league we shoot, is tight quarters at times, so I like a standard length shaft for that.
Just wondering why, we don't see more ash shafts for pool? Is it just the reality that maple is that much better?

A shaft with zero vibration, that's new to me..
I've made ash shafts on request, nothing special imo, the grain is a challenge.

Slight exageration maybe, but I really don't feel any with the Jacoby.
