Can't go wrong with either one.....But my pick would be either diveney or josey. both established cuemakers that make some of the nicest sneakies on the planet. Both cues will play good and both will have a good resale value but it all depends on your taste. But I would stick to those two. You can't really find a better sneaky for the money.

I'd be tempted to throw Bob Frey in there as well, not the fanciest of sneakys but hold there value and from what i've read are great players too. I've got a dzuricky bacote sneaky and it plays pretty good. Its got some nice figure in the wood but points are way off, but its a sneaky so i'd expect that.

If it was my money to spend i'd get a Frey. In fact once i've shifted a few cues thats exactly what i'm going to do! :)

Pat Diveney cues are a well made cue, the balance feels good in your hand. I have one and I love it, Pat is a great guy to work with also. As for DZ, I dont know, and Josey I did not like the feel of the cue, workmanship is very good though. Out of the 3 you listed, I would go for a Diveney, his butterfly s/p start at around $350
I just re-read your post your looking for a fancy S/P Try www.INDYQ.com and check out the Diveney butterfly S/P, there are a few to look at. The custom Ebony butterfly cue at the top of the page is mine.

also, about the points being off...I can't say its really Bobs' fault there, pm me if you wanna know why I say this.

I wanna know why. How could it not be his fault?

I love my Josey and Keith is also one of the nicest people you could deal with.

yes, right now this is the correct answer to why uneven points wouldn't be his fault...but he says he knows how to do it, he just needs to buy a dedicated saw to do it...then I get the first one as we've discussed this prior :D . unfortunately, it won't be for a while I guess :( . oh well, I'm willing to wait for this one! I have so much pool stuff now that I really don't need another pool item floating around  . you CAN only use 1 cue at a time, right? lol

Nope, that's not right. You could use as many as you like. I've used up to three cues in one night before. Hell you could use a different cue for every inning/shot if you wanted to...lol.

I have a Josey custom cue that I bought in 2002 and just ordered a sneaky pete from Keith at the U.S. Open last week. I love the way my Josey plays which is beautiful cocobola but always wanted an ebony sneaky pete so I ordered one. I have two friends that have Bob Dzuickys cues and love them! I've been to his shop a couple times and he does excellent work and good to work with. Keith Josey is also very good to work with and does excellent work. I don't own a Diveney or know anyone that does but his butterfly sp look awesome. All three that you mentioned are very good and would be pleased with any of them. Wouldn't it be great to get one from each of them!! lol..... Curly

Another vote for Mr. Diveney. You will not be dissapointed by the man or the cue.

I'd say it depends on how much you are willing to pay. $350 or less, the names you mentioned are fine. Over $350, I'd try to find a nice Scruggs sneaky.

I like dz, though all the cuemakers stated will do a good job. My experience with Bob has been great, very good communication, delivered on both of my orders prior to the quoted time, and quality has been very good. Can't ask for more.
