Anybody see the finals? Curious who won? I took 7/8th place money and went home after losing to Jonathan Hennessee and Jesse Middlebrooks. First time I cashed in a Viking event.

Funny you should mention those two...Jonathan won the tourney I was in and the end of April, and Jesse took 2nd. They must be touring together. Tourney was at Southern Billiards up in north Mississippi.

They weren't traveling together in Athens, but both were shooting well. I figured Jonathan would win the event after seeing how good he played against me. I had Jonathan down 3 to 2 and missed and didn't get back to the table until it was 6 to 3. He beat me 7-3. That is the same score he beat me by at another tournament a year or so ago in Dalton, GA.

Brian White and Hennessee from Tennessee.
It was good to see you there, Chris. Good playing!
I didn't think Brian White was in it. I saw Brian Butler there. Butler has really been shooting good lately. It was good to get to visit with you also. Did that wrap job finally come through for you last night.

Hennessee is playing really strong right now. He's from my home town. He's come a long way

Did Bruce Berrong play?

I used to live in Athens and he was the best player in town. Good guy and a strong player.

P.S : If you guys haven't already been there, go to the Jamaican restaurant on Milledge and try the jerk salmon or pork. I wouldn't bother telling you unless it was world class ethnic food. Spicy, but makes the stuff I've tried other places look like a joke.

You can also take a left out of the Brass Rail parking lot and go one mile and there's also a place that sells cuban and mexican food. Try the chicken sandwich (torta) and one of their shakes with South American fruit. I liked the guanavana(sort of like banana). Only five minutes from the rail, foods much better than the pool hall stuff, and the owner is a girl who looks like Catherine Zeta-Jones (very lovely).

Sorry for the non-pool info but I lived there for 2 years and remember how much better these places were than the other places in town. I used to drive to Atlanta just for the vietnamese food (170 miles roundtrip,$8 gas, for a 6 dollar bowl of pho on Buford Hwy)

Yes Bruce did play and was still in it in the final 8. I wish Mike Janis had access to his computer so he could pass along the full results. We ate at the pool room, but it sounds like we missed some great food. We usually like to eat at the pool rooms to help them feel that adding money to a tournament is a worth while venture.
