I need some help from a computer guru. For some reason whenever someone attaches a picture to their post I can't see it. This problem surfaced about a week or two ago. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Is there anything I can do to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Not a guru but have you changed any settings In IE? Go to tools - internet options - advanced - make sure there is a check in show pictures. There may be other options in there but I can't comment as far as pictures are concerned.

Also, something may have changed in your AZB settings. Go to User Control Panel, click "Edit Options," scroll down to "Thread Display Options," and then under "Visible Post Elements" make sure you have "Show Images" checked.

It's likely the pictures were not posted properly.... Or can you not see ANY pictures now?

I can't see any pictures at all Sheldon. I used to be able to but in the last week or two nothing.

Kerry,
I did everything that you said and the box was checked to allow pictures to be viewed. Say, are you going to the Pechauer Tourney at City lights in Tacoma next month? I am planning on it. I will introduce myself. If I can't get things fixed maybe I'll bring my computer with if you are going to be there and see if you can help. We have met before, though briefly I am good friends with Gerald and Susie O'Conner and Tom and Debbie Chichitti. Hope to see you there.

Sometimes I have to lower my security settings on Zone Alert to see some pictures.

Thanks for the info Pelican, tried it to no avail. I even upgraded AOL from 8.0 to 9.0 that didn't help either. It is also not just this website, it happens at OnePocket.org also. I can go to other website posted in a thread to see pictures, just not the attached ones to a post. Also now that I think of this, my problem coincides with my virus protection expiring and me re-newing it. I will have to send them an e-mail I guess.

Thanks to all for you suggestions. I will post the answer to the problem once I find out what it is.

Hi, sorry I couldn't help with your picture problem. Unfortunately, I'm definitely no computer whiz (I've just played around with the settings on AZB) so I'm sure I couldn't help you with your computer. :( But when is the tournament at City Lights? I doubt I'll be able to play in it but I'd like to stop by and say hi to everyone. I've been wondering how Gerald & Susie and Tom & Debbie are doing! And good luck with your computer.

The tourney is a Pechauer and I am not positive on the dates but I believe it is the 20th and 21st of November. Drop by on Saturday as I don't make it to Sunday that often but still have fun. I haven't had the chance to talk to Susie or Gerald lately but Tom and Deb come down to Mount Vernon where I play (RIverside Billiards and Blues) occasionally. They are doing well, Debbie is stilll Debbie, I get a big hug from her everytime they stop in. The years have been kind to them both as they still look the same as they did 10 years ago. They can both still hit the ball well too. They are two great people. Debbie still keeps in contact with Susie and Gerald but it doesn't sound like either of them are playing much. If I remember correctly, Debbie and Susie were both on the womens pro tour about the same time as you were. I sem to recall reading all of your names in the pool magazines. Based on your columns, hopefully I will start reading yours again. Best of luck.

Well, that's a shame - 11/20-21 is the NWPA's final stop in at the Breaking Point in Lynnwood!! So unless I get knocked out on Saturday I won't be able to swing by. But you could stop by Lynnwood on Sunday, and maybe I'll still be in it. :) You could even tell Tom and Debbie about it and maybe they'd come down too!! I would LOVE to see them again. Yes, Debbie and Susie played back when I played but they quit before I did. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and good luck at City Lights!!

The first question would be when was the last time you ran a spyware scan?

Also, have you seen any pop ups that talked about "active x controls"?

From the little info provided, and what you've already done, it sounds to be spyware/worm/virus related.

1. make sure your anti virus definitions are up to date.
2. run spybot and ad-aware
3. run msconfig or mike lin's startup.cpl and make sure there is nothing starting up on boot that you don't want.

And, if you're not on dial up, stop using AOL. That can be a whole different issue. You may consider calling AOL technical support, very few technicians/computer gurus know enough about AOL to troubleshoot it.

If you are on broadband, and do take my advice to stop using AOL, by all means, DON'T start using IE. Download an alternative browser (such as Opera or Firefox) that don't have such glaring security flaws as IE.

Wish I could help you more.

I am able to view the pictures if I disable my anti virus protection, playing with it right now. Kerry, the Pechauer Tourney at City Lights is on November 27th and 28th. Maybe I'll see yoiu there.
