this probably is supposed to be the off-topic area but i feel it will get more input here.

a couple of weeks ago at the skins game fred funk bet annika sorenstam that if she outdrove him then he would wear a mini-skirt. she did and he was a good sport and did his part. some announcers have made the statement that wearing the skirt is "better than what you are supposed to do when that happens..."

what is supposed to happen? is it supposed to happen everytime a woman drives the ball farther? does this rule apply to playing against michelle wie?

It's just a saying. " If you dont hit it past the ladies tees then you must squat to pee". Also, Fred didnt bet Annika anything. That was just a planned little thing by the two because the others (mainly Tiger) had been ribbing Fred about being short off the tee all week. It was all done in good fun

i didn't mean they bet anything like money or anything of monetary value. i was just using the term "bet" like we use all the time.

i knew it was a "little planned thing" between them. that is kind of a bet if you think about it.

fred: "annika, if you hit it farther than me, i will wear a skirt"

annika: "you're on"

that would be a bet in a very loose sense of the term

actually the rule of thumb is its called a dick out. which means the remainder of the hole the man must play while letting it hang if you will.

Lol

And that's if you don't drive it past the lady's TEE.

Golf and Pocket Billiards.....

Life is good if you have a little bit of skills in both golf and pocket billiards and have the passion to keep playing and caring about both of them.

** Good pool players are, generally speaking, great putters.

Sorry I have to argue this point....That is a myth....It is assumed that a good pool player will be a "good" not "great" putter...

The fact is...they probably are decent or take to the putting concept of the game rather quickly...but at the same time....when you miss the green in regulation...chip up and one put from inside 10 feet, there are a TON of great putters...

The fact is the better anyone gets at hitting greens, the "worse" or should I say the more "avereage" putter they become...

BTW: I do agree 100% on your first satement........However...I posess above average skills in both......but.....I would gladly "suck" at either one to be a "champion" at the other....:D :D

That really depends on which statistics you use, of course. Between two equal ability putters, the one who misses the green more frequently will end up with less total putts, but anyone who knows anything about golf doesn't just look at the # of putts per round and say "that guy is better, he only had 27 and the other guy had 30." They look at a lot of things, like % birdie converted, scrambling, average distance of putts holed, putts per GIR, etc.

But this is a pool forum. If you want to talk golf, well, I've got a site at http://thesandtrap.com/forum/ that'll gladly take you. :-)

Uhhhhh I am pretty sure I replied to a post that was relating Pool Players to Golfers...(putting)....I don't think that means I want to post on a Golf Forum...

Anyway...apparantly I know absolutly nothing about Golf anyway. I have never heard of GIR / Conversion / Scrambling etc so I would have no reasoin to ever post on a Golf forum......

BTW...Thanks for posting exactly what I said in the first line of my origonal reply....Pool players being "great" putters is a myth....
