I've always scrolled through the tens of hundreds of player ratings, and out of curiosity, occasionally looked up my own like I'm sure hundreds of other amateur AZ followers have done over the years. But recently, my rating has taken on a whole new meaning for me and I'm searching for answers.
Tried the AZ search engine (lol), but couldn't find any info on this topic. How is a rating achieved; raised; lowered; rating significance(definition), etc? Apparently, my handicap level in an amateur league was raised through the roof due to my {AZ rating going up(approx. 340 points) (their words)}. Pretty sad when this new national league boasts about a unique handicapping system whereby they update and post a ton of weekly player stats to determine a handicap level, just to override it by a rating I know they don't really understand (nor do I).
Informed explanations are appreciated.
