Imho, when you use pretty woods, it takes away from it when you use
Viking like material at the bottom and the ringwork. The wood is the hero,
keep it that way and your work looks clean.
Brian Mordt is a prime example of a cuemaker that makes
simple plain cues but because of his wood selection his cues
look fantastic without going overboard. Goodluck with your progress.
