Wow is all I can say... Took a long period off and am just back to where I was several years ago on working on my aiming system... The system uses the center and both edges of the ball to establish a standard and then uses a mirror contact point offset to pivot to center cueball...

I have to think this is similar to one of the pivot systems being taught but I have only studied CTE and The SEE System..... Neither are the way I pivot so I was wondering who else teaches a different version of a pivot system so I can go check out if it matches up with my method??

What about the 90/90 system? Never looked at it and am wondering if it is pivot based??

Found this on Youtube....

So it's not 90/90 or this guy is doing it wrong... One of the other videos said you use the edge of the ball furthest from the pocket but either way this is too subjective even tho you would get a feeling for bridge length over time I would think.....

1. That video was made in response to a post talking about pivot length mattering.
2. It is 90/90, although a slight change in it from 90 to edge to edge to edge.
3. You obviously have no idea how to use 90/90.
4. I find it very hard to believe you don't know who it is in that video, but instead just wanted to take a free "knock" where you thought you could.
5. Your statement shows you really didn't even bother to listen to the video.
6. Your statement of it being too subjective makes one wonder if you even watched it at all. Four defined steps, how is that too subjective?

Our Pool School teaches several different aiming methods of which three are a pivot. There are two types of pivots, Manual and Air.

I would be very interested in your approach to aiming.

Thanks

Fun stuff Neil but I actually just now realized is has Neil Dryfout as the poster. I didn't even know your last name until now.. I was sampling thru all the vids that said 90/90 in the description and the first ones used the edge of the ball furthest from the pocket. I was just looking for familiarity...

As far as adressing if pivot length matters it 100% does in my system but I didn't take the time to listen to the video I looked at the setup and 90/90 line and it didn't match the other videos I had just watched...

Maybe the other guy did it wrong or maybe it doesn't matter since either edge will work and you will just have different pivot lengths...

I don't know 90/90 and was not wanting to learn it right now... I just wanted to take a look in case I was heading down charted territory... I will try and post what I do to see if it's familiar to anyone...

I did like the visual aid you had and might be able to pull off a video that may make sense of how I aim...

The issue I am seeing and was working on before and am back to has todo with how small errors impact a miss causing it to be thin or thick depending on if I started with the edge of the object ball closest or furthest from the pocket... My base pivots actually move my bridge hand as the cue rotates to the center or edges so the final pivot before the actual aiminig pivot needs to be perfect or I need to decide to aim tight or loose depending on which edge I start with....

yeah doesn't make a lick of sense without video or diagrams....

Will go back and watch these for content later Neil when I actually want to cherry pick 90/90.... you took the time to post them and I have no doubt that they may prove useful and will make sense when viewed in their entirety...
