I am considering having a cue built out of ebony and bacote. Looking for it to be a wrapless bacote into ebony full splice with veneers. I am trying to figure out a good veneer color combo and am hoping for some help/sugestions on whats out there. Please post your pics so i can see if its what i wanna do! Thanks in advance.

My last cue with this combo had one maple veneer. Most cues either have no veneers or 4-5 or more. I think the 1 or 2 veneer can be a nice understated look that is less common.

See for yourself.

On 6 and 8 pointers, one veneer is the best IMHO... Just lets the point wood stand out without the distraction from the veneers.. nice looking cue

I agree....

I agree and from experience can tell you that one veneer helps draw a boundary between the two woods that might not otherwise be distinct. A few years ago I had a Mark Bear blank finished by Jim Baxter. The cue had a beautiful figured dark Bocote into an Ebony nose. I often admired the cue but had difficulty seeing in the points where the Bocote ended and the Ebony began; the woods almost swirled together, which provided its own beauty. If I ever have a similar cue made--I miss that cue greatly--I've debated using a lighter Bocote or a darker Bocote with a white or maple veneer. Just thought I'd offer my own experience; hope it helps-R

Thx everyone! Do you think the one veneer will still look good on a four point fullsplice?
