Once in a while I come across this problem more times than I like. The rubber is attached with some type of glue that was made to never be peeled of. So after an hour of wrestling the mess of old glue and rubber pieces off. I then come to my next problem a 3/8" W x 1/4" H x the length of the center of the of rail piece of wood strip. The strip I am talking about is found behind the backing center of K66 cushions. Problem is you can' find k66 rails to fit over them so they need to be taken off. Any Suggestion? Or Ideas

I think you have a couple options. I have come across this same problem
with a. heritage. I am pretty sure i purchased some k66 from muellers that
worked. option two would be to remove the strip. it is just a centering strip
to keep rubber consistent and quicker to apply, but not necessary.you would have to do this by hand or through a table saw. I am
not sure how old the table is but i actually got a.heritage to send replacement cushion to me a couple of times under their lifetime warranty.

Cut 'em

Put the rails on a table saw upside down, VERY carefully make sure you have the angle right, and cut off the rubber/ridge/glue and all. Just be sure not to get into the wood.

We have alot of AH tables in So CA. I brush acetone where the cushion meets the subrail, let it sit for a minute and the acetone loosen the adhesive and you can pull it off without splitting the subrail wood. I haven
t had a problem putting on K66 cushion back on. I like to use white glue with the subrails with the wood strip that your talking about, this way you can lay the cushion when the glue is wet.. call me I'll tell you how to do it, 714-379-8983
