Are the Balabushka cues any good. I hear George Balabushka died some time ago. But who's making these cues?

Do these cues hit good? What are the shafts like? And where are they made?

thanks for the replies,

The Balabushka name was bought by the Helmstetter cue company. Helmstetter makes the Helmstetter line, Adams line, Balabushka line and the Viscotti line. The Viscotti has a firm hit to it, the inlay and construction work is pretty solid. I've played with a Viscotti cue recently. Just remember, these are not the "Balabushka" that every collector is looking for, but is not bad for the price.

Not in the USA if thats what you want to know. Probably Japan. I think you can get a decent American made cue for the same money. To many of our jobs have been sent overseas already due to NAFTA. They only have to pay some poor SOB 50 cents an hour and work em like dogs. I won't support that BS. No way, no how.

Alot of people are importing their stuff these days...unfortunatly. Check out Brunswicks boxes when ya get a table.................MADE IN BRAZIL stamped on the boxes. Sad thing that these big companies do this..........USA....USA!

Yup the trusty old Brunswick.......Made in Brazil.....NICE! lmao.........not even Brunswick can keep making table here! It is a shame!

One thing will always be made in the good ol' USofA....us! Just because major corporations have acquired International interests, doesn't mean the people do.

USA!!

Right on DUDE! I read about the Finishes they can use overseas. More Durable and Deeper looking Finishes. We can't use them here because of EPA restrictions..........don't really know enough truth about all this to be talking about......but maybe someone else does. That was the 1st thing I noticed about an overseas table we have setup a few of. The Finish on the rails and frame we amazing! Looked like you could whack it with a Hammer and not mare it. Anybody out there know what different Finishes avaliable overseas that we don't have access to here?

This doesn't apply to Japan!

Now Thailand is a different story...
