Yup, on Crackslist right now, Poorland Oregon.

The listing says they were made in 1896 and that they are Ivory.

Although I have a set just like them, I do not believe mine are Ivory but I could be wrong.

Any experts here?

If they are not Ivory, hmmm, I hate to see someone spend that much only to find out they didn't get the real thing.

EDIT; Forgot to mention, sometimes you see a few words in the description to know something is wrong, in this case it says "original owner." Made in 1896 and original owner? Good comedy like this makes great postings.

That's what I thought and that is what I believe mine are. Mine have the hairline cracks on a few.

Seller will get a notice in about five minutes, if the listing continues, then what?

Thanks for the response.

The cracks are the glaze shrinking over time and through impact, called "crazing"

You can flag it on Craigslist, they can take it down, but they probably won't care about a mislabeled ad

I don't know jack about pool balls, but those don't look that old. And they don't look ivory either. But as I started...

Nobody's paying 15k for a set of balls without knowing exactly what they're doing... Nobody... Doesn't matter how stupid, rich, or ignorant.

Let the guy dream.

Illegal to sell Ivory in Oregon...so if only clay, he's not going to get a visit from the cops. If ivory, " you're in a heap of trouble, boy".....
