Balls at the SBE

I watched the first round yesterday and the balls used during the pro event were all getting big, black smudges on them. Why weren't they cleaning them was my first thought and what was the cause was my second? I have been to this tournament every year and this was the first time I have noticed this.

Diamond leather pockets leave marks on the balls

its very annoying to me. Diamond Billiards needs to work on this issue.

i have a gold crown 1 and get black marks too
ive been told its from the balls hitting the pocket surface

I have my Diamond since January 2014 and no marks at all in mine.

I did see the marks you mention, but only on Table 1 in only one or two balls. The rest looks fine.

The black marks come when the balls are really hit hard into the pocket.

I saw them on table #1 when Strickland was playing, but on Shawn Wilkie's table too as well as Hohmann's. I am still surprised they don't clean them more often. I would imagine the balls would skid if two scuff marks hit into each other.
