Ballstar liquid cleaner

I had a major house fire about 18 months ago and we recently got moved back into the house and my table is now set up again. I have a Ballstar ball polisher which I have always been happy with. My polisher itself is fine but the bottle of cleaning liquid that comes with it was lost in the fire. I’ve looked at several websites for a replacement but those that carry the polishing liquid itself instead of the polisher are all out of stock. Does anyone know who may have some of the Ballstar liquid polishing fluid in stock or, if not, what the appropriate substitute for it would be? I have no idea what is actually in the stuff and am a little reluctant to just buy any liquid polisher. Thanks for any help you may have.

Manning cues shows in stock. Did you bother to do a Google search? Was one of the 1st things to show up.

I started a similar thread today for a friend. I would not hesitate using Novus 1. Manning lists it as back ordered until March 2023

My bad, you're correct. When I saw add to cart, I didn't look any further and just assumed it was in stock. Sorry.
Just a thought, some of those bowling ball cleaners look surprisingly similar. Also Porper makes a liquid ball cleaner, and a liquid polisher that looks like it would work in a ballstar also.

No problem. I’ll look around for something. I expect the Porper stuff may be good given that they concentrate on billiard products but who knows. Thanks for the additional suggestions.

I have a Ballstar and the power supply switch needs replacement.
Ballstar only sells via USA distributors and none have any in stock.

It has been on back order for awhile too. If anyone knows of a
source for a replacement, I’d appreciate receiving your PM.

Not my intention to derail this thread but since it involved Ballstar,
I’m hoping an interested reader might be able to offer some advice.

I’m curious about your experience with the Ballstar cleaner. It always got my balls cleaned up fairly well but nor really great until I started squirting some Aramith ball cleaner across the balls before I turned it on. Then they started coming out great. Have you had a similar experience?

I’ve been using a mixture of two tablespoons of Aramith Ball Cleaner in eight ounces of 91% Isopropyl Alcohol in my polisher and have been impressed with the results. The balls are clean, shiny and have that brand new, fresh out of the box feel.

No, I haven’t. I use Aramith Ball Cleaner and afterward, spray the balls with Diamond Blue Mist Final Wipe.
I apply it in dabs on the 8 pool balls as I place them in the Ballstar. I also make sure to clean my machine.
The balls come out sparkling clean and the only thing is when you first start playing, there is very little cling.

As you play, the balls will gradually acquire increased throw which is very normal and to be expected. It is
not because your pool table is dirty, although I really haven’t any way of knowing but most table owners take
care of their equipment. Try Diamond Blue Mist and you apply it with a spray bottle and towel dry afterward.

I buy it in the gallon container. It also works great on glass windows and mirrors but it’s marvelous for pool balls.

blue mist has a fairly low(.5-2%) silicone content. for some that's a big no-no. a buddy uses Brillianize that also has some(less than 1%) silicone. balls play fine to me after using it.

The On/off switch. Is the machine stuck on off or on. If it’s the rocker switch that can be worked out until you get the replacement. Is there a fuse on the machine? Is it the outlet ( just running things through)

wouldn't a parts house like Graingers have a fix for this? can't be too complicated.

The actual switch has broken off the machine and no longer functions. According to the email
I received from Ballstar in South Korea, the power supply switch needs replacement. They gave
me 5 distributors in the USA but everyone has this part on back order for the past 6 months. I
cannot get any estimate when the part will come in and Ballstar doesn’t sell direct to the end user.

I might have to take it to a handyman or fixit shop. It worked great for the last 20 years and I lent
it to someone for a pool tournament they were running. It was returned with a cracked toggle switch
and it gradually got worse with usage until it cracked and come off the machine. But do try the Blue
Mist ultimate wipe for use on pool balls. I have used it for over a decade and it does an excellent job.

I didn’t go to Graingers but did go to a big electrical parts supplier. The folks at the counter
had some switches they believed would work but none were near the size of the one on my
Ballstar. They told me to just drill some holes and attached it to the outer wall of the machine.

I am not trying to improvise and so I really want to replace what was there before. These ball
cleaners aren’t inexpensive. I don’t want mine to not look like it underwent some fugazzi repair.
I’m just amazed Ballstar hasn’t any inventory of parts to draw upon to send to their distributors.

I have been using Brillanize for years and haven't had any issues.

For now …. Disconnect the 2 wires that go to the power rocker switch if you’re comfortable opening the machine. Connect them with a wire nut and wrap with quality Black electric tape. Use a wall switch to control off/on
