Bank Pool

I returned to pool over the summer after being a regular player in my teens in the early 80s. I've never played in a league, but I watch a lot of Youtube videos to watch top players and to understand the game better.

A few weeks ago, I stumbled on 9 ball bank pool. The first match I saw was one where Shane was beaten, and not really in the match. I'm used to watching him dominate or at least pushing his opponent. I've seen a lot of players I'd never heard of do well against bigger name players. But I guess it not a skill that even regular players can do well.

All pool is difficult for me, but this game seems exceptionally difficult. Usually, there are several ways a player can make a ball, but this game limits those choices to a really difficult option. To me, it's right up there with one pocket (in terms of difficulty), but more exciting to watch.

Do you play bank pool often? Do you enter to play it in tournaments? Is it even a part of most tournaments, or is it just not that popular?

Bank pool

Is a different animal,When I could play a while back Banks was the only game I could really play.Short rack I am(was) subject to beat anyone..Full rack, that's a different story

Bank pool is very popular in my area but I admit I only practice it occasionally to firm up my one pocket game. I never got bit by the banking bug. I got one pocket fever instead.

There are typically a few good local tournaments leading up to the Derby City Classic.
