Banking with CTE/PRO ONE

Thanks for that Bob.

I've had a couple of days to play around with it and it didn't take long to get the hang of it. Its a shame my DVD is damaged, but the 2nd isn't far away.

What struck me was how reliable and consistent banking was with PRO ONE. If you are good at predicting the CB reaction off the rail with various speeds and/or spin it will be a great method to use. For me, it just takes some of the guess work out. In particular the use of it on a table without diamonds is a big plus. I haven't tried it on a snooker table yet, but I tried it on an English 7ft pool table and it worked just as well.

Stan, glad to hear your coming out with another dvd. Will it be primarilly on banking ?

JE54,
No, my new DVD will not be primarily on banking. At some point in the near future I may release a Table of Contents.

I can tell you that my DVD will have about 20 chapters totalling 1:45 to 2 hours in length.

All I can say now is that if you like or even if you don't care for CTE, you are going to love the topics that I cover.

I am putting my heart and soul into this work and a pretty good sum of money but that's not what's important. This is all about a continuing effort to share with the world what CTE is all about.

Just curious Stan - will the new DVD contain any scene from the first one or will it contain totally new recorded info?
I remember you mentioned that when the current stock of 1st edition CTE Pro One DVDs are over, there will be no other and you will totally switch to the new version...

Hi Stan,
Is there any CTE method for a frozen ball on the rail or what we call a rail shot to make the ball follow the rail to the pocket.
As I understand it there is no CTE method for this shot and you have to resort to a traditional aiming method like just missing with english.
Cheers ;)

Mristea,
My prep time for this new work was from May to September totaling 350 hours. You might think of it as 35 hours per week spanning 10 weeks. My prep time for DVD #1 was 160 hours over 4 weeks. Needless to say, getting ready for a "production" is one heck of an ordeal. So to answer your question....ALL new footage for DVD # 2.

Gaz100,
I use the same visuals and the same pivot or visual sweep for a rail shot as I would for any type shot. If a shot, such as a rail shot, requires the slightest of tweaks, that's not a problem as far as using the system.

Practiced some more banking with Pro One last night. It's starting to grow on me now.

Broke a 9 ball rack, and made the first 3 banks (without taking ball in hand), then missed 2 out of the last 6. I did take ball in hand a few times on those last 6, so it's not like I was running out by banking.

Hey Stan, thanks for all that you do and your contribution to pocket billiards

I know this is coming a little late. But check out this youtube head cam.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=DlD06ldRVy4#

If you use this tool for instructional videos, folks would get to see what you are seeing and explaining the different lines would be easier to understand.

I dont use CTE, I get lost with all the different lines and pivots. :embarrassed2:

Thanks

John

Thx, One Pocket John! I am very passionate about my work with CTE. I am to happy share what I have learned concerning CTE.

Yes, Max presented his viewers with a shooter's perspective. I really like his video and will soon view it in its entirety.

I have the rear view covered extremely well for DVD# 2 with what I think will be a much closer cb/ob presentation (compared to what a standard head cam can do) because of our use of zoom.

Pure CTE aiming is different than any other kind of aiming.
My explanations concerning this difference in DVD # 2 should satisfy any interested student of CTE. I put it all on the line, no pulled punches and completely uncompromised. This will be my final chapter on the subject. I left it all on the table.

Stan, can you use CTE if the cue ball is a different size than the object ball. Also can you use it on different size tables?

J Soto,

Pool is not meant to be played with mismatched cb/obs. Same with CTE. Matched balls are ideal.

Sure, the system works with any regulation table, If you played on a 3.5' by 9' foot table, you'd be in a heap of trouble on many shots.
I will explain the WHY behind that on DVD #2.

With that being said (in bold), I'll order DVD #2 when it comes out next year.
If its good enough for Steve (the Blade) Moore its good enough for me. :)
