Battery Powered Portable Cue-Lathe

I have a very unique invention.
It's a Battery Powered Potable Cue-Lathe!

I call it "The Squirrelly Lathe".

This was created about 8-10 years ago, out of necessity (45-50 miles to get a tip put on).
It works pretty darn good.

After I remove the old tip & glue, this "Lathe" allows me to cut & shape the tip.
I even use it to polish some of my old wooden shafts.

It uses an RC Airplane remote control transmitter (2.4 ghz), receiver, speed controller, brushless motor & 2 cell lipo battery.
With variable speed control, it's great for working on cue-tips.

What's really nice is, I can carry it anywhere and use it without an electrical connection.
Oh, I know it ain't much, but it's nice to have around when I need something done.

Now that I have a 3D Printer, I've already started designing an automated cutting head for it.
Soon I hope to be able to cut off the tips, slice them down to shaft size and rounds them with it.

Thought people would like to see it...
BS

Great idea. Another option for batteries if I was to do something like this would be to use cordless tool batteries like Makita , Dewalt or Milwaukee. In my case it would be Makita as I already have several of the tools and batteries.

Thanks!
I though it was cool too!

And it only cost me money for the Case, everything else I had in my shop.
Forgot...
The bearing & transition chuck cost me a very small amount.

See a potential product to sell.
That's what I thought too.

I've even when so far as to source all the parts to make it a battery operated system with a cutting head (like a lathe), DC motor and all the other parts to make it "Really" desirable.
But then the costs sky rocket'd to the point where I'd be stuck with low volume sales and parts for book-ends...

But it looks nice!

Well if you were in large city think you could be traveling tip guy, and maybe do well.

Know in Phoenix Metro are there is only one or two place that do Tips.

I've got 25 unique products I've invented for billiards.
I've wrote my own website, setup a shopping cart, 3D modeled all those products that were plastic, fabricated the rest into working prototypes!
I have some very amazing products, BUT i'm about burnt out from months, months & more months of working daily trying to pull everything together before going after investors.

Right now I have 315 products on my website (all my products are "turned off" so they won't get "ripped-off").
The only thing turned on is my T-Shirt designs!
Some of those are just plain hilarious!

I been taking a short break!
I've still got to finish my clam-shell packaging machine (which I've designed & started fabricating myself).
But I've already bought most of the materials and am about 1/2" of the way done.

Plus,
I've got 3 other apps I need to finish up (again for billiards).

There is soooooo much to do that it can become overwhelming...

The Potable Lathe is in my shopping cart, just not turned on for the world to see.
Price at $800.00 (that should deter them! 😁)

BUT it takes lots of time to build & test.
I have enough parts to make 2-3 of them, just don't really want to.

Once I launch world wide, I might develop it further.

It's a bit hard to launch world wide without actually making the things LOL

Love the lathe in a case idea and setup, great for portable setups at tournaments or someone that does not have a good garage or workshop area to work in.

I meant launching all my other 25 products I invented.

I have 135 products I carry with me when I go anywhere to play pool (1/2 of my 25 products are already made and packaged...).
That's 14 products in multiple colors, & 11 T-Shirts.

I won't "turn on" the Portable Lathe until everything else is up & running, because IF it sells, there won't be but a few.
I will put on the product it will take 3 weeks for delivery, that should be enough time fabricate it.

Everybody that see the Portable Lathe really likes it.
I use to carry it around to tournaments and put it on display (a few hater's didn't like it, but then they don't like anything somebody else has done).

i assume it has a cross slide and proper centering chuck for that price. attached photo is very hard to see, but it looks like drive is in the joint and not near the ferrule and that the latter end is resting on skateboard wheels, and that a wood block is placed where the cross slide is supposed to be? i'm probably seeing wrong

. . . a few hater's didn't like it . . .
Being equally inventive as yourself, you've given me an idea for a very practical product that will have wide appeal to viewers of the product and wearers of the product:

A T-shirt printing company that offers extra-long T-shirts upon which is printed an enumerated list of everything in life that the wearer hates.

This will save the wearer so much typing/venting time and joining of their unimaginably huuge amount of forums and clubs where the haters presently rejoice in announcing what they hate to limited eyeballs (and ears). Now everyone in life who sees you gets your message.

Then the individual haters -- newly -- inspired -- take the next obvious step of having a skilled tatoo-ist readably inscribe the long list up and down the front and backs of their torso and on the entire length of their legs. This will be so nice for them in warm weather when they prefer minimal clothing.

No it don't have a cross slide or centering chuck.
(But I started designing a 3D model to add one to it)

That price WILL deter buyers (and that's was the "pun" of it).
I'm really NOT interested in selling them, it's way to much work for the small amount of profit.
AND I'm not setup to manufacture them.
