So 4 of the top women players in the world have failed to advance past round 2. However I do tip my cap to them for showing so well in this event while many, myself included, didn't expect them to. Here are their results...
Karen Corr: 6W 3L
Allison Fisher: 3W 2L
Gerda Hofstatter: 1W (over Strickland!), 4L
Helena Thornfeldt: 0W 5L (took Morris to the hill though)
But now a new question emerges: How will the 3 women HOF'ers do?
I really don't think they can possibly do better than the above women did (Corr & Fisher specifically). I think it's going to be another Sigel/LJJ-type massacre in all cases.
I hope they play out of their skulls and prove me wrong, but the reality is that all of these ladies are 100:1 to advance.
