I went this year to the BCA and stayed monday through saturday. I had a good time even though our team finished 129th. Could have been worse I guess.

First off the BCA event was great. Ran smoothly as could be expected and tons of vendors etc.

I met several AZers and played in the 10ball tourney for members. Good people and a great setup for the AZ room. Big Thanks to Mike.

I go every year to the APA nationals and both have there plus's and minus's. I like the way the APA has more Mini's for spectators and the players knocked out.

This year the BCA just had so much to choose from.... Pro events, TAR event, the action room, vendors, several events to play in and a few minis.
It was great.

The BCA even had FREE BEER for tw hours. Not a bad thing at all.

The Riv on the other hand was absolutely horrible. The worst I have ever seen it. I used to think it was good to have the same employees there for every year but now I know its just due to not being able to be fired.

Every Bar took for ever and ws manned with one person no matter what time of day or crowd size. They ran out of beer regularly and oddly each bar had different drinks.
The food and drinks were also higher than ever and $3 for a 6-8oz coke is
a joke.
Kady's was in rare form and has never been great but okay. The service was horrible and there was always a line no matter how many open tables inside. Rarely did I see anyone win on any form of gambling. *** I was actually told by a disgruntled dealer a few years back that the casino tightens all the slots while the pool players were in town. **

I gave up on staying at the Riv a few years back and now like to stay away from it. I get a taxi if need be so not to drink and drive or just dont drink. I can go across the street to Slots of Fun and have a blast. We went this year and ordered 5 beers and a shot of JD and it was $11. Cant beat that.

I had a blast at the BCA and think it was ran very very well. For me only a exhibition by Semih would have made it better. The Riv should get rid of half of its staff at least. They are getting old and dont care one cent about customers. It all starts with the top.

One thing people should check is if they used their Debit or credit cards. I used mine one day as I forgot my $$$ in the little diner thing by the sportsbook. Bill for 2 of us was $23 however I was charged $28.95. So far the Riv is acting like they are looking into it. They actually told me that I wrote a tip to that amount. When I surfaced the receipt with the amount their tune changed but until then it was my fault and I must have been drinking. My guess is that the girl that added it on will still be there scamming next year as well.
