BD article on Earl

Yeah I read that article too. It was a good one. Makes you kinda feel for Earl and start to understand him. Then you see how he acts like a jackass at a major tourney (like the IPT 8ball open) and you throw that thought process right out the window and not like him again.

Thanks for the link. Mr. Strickland reall sums it all up perfectly at the end:

"I've always gone into a match with the intention of playing my best and giving my opponent the benefit of the doubt. That all changes when I think the player or the fans or the conditions start affecting the game and its integrity. Then I go crazy, and I won't be the same for the rest of the match. I don't know why people can't understand and respect that"

So basically he justs wants everyone to be cool about him going crazy in public whenever something offends him.

I have nothing but the highest admiration for Mr. Strickland's playing ability and competitive record, but no Professional sportsman will ever be voluntarily granted the right to act as badly as they want in public. In fact in general the exact opposite applies; most people expect Professional sportsmen to behave better than the average player when faced with something they find offensive.

Unless, of course, he wants to take up Pro Wrestling. Hmm, can anyone else picture an Earl Strickland/Buddy Hall tag team?
