Hi guys, I'm new to the site. It's great to see everyone's cues. I hopping on the wagon with a couple of shots of my collection so far.

L to R: Dale Perry, Adam (20+yrs old), Steve Kornele and Steve Klein. The last two are newly acquired this summer and are great playing cues. I've had the DP for about 7yrs.

Have a good day.

A 3rd Perspective

Another look from a different angle. I guess L to R is reversed in this one.

Welcome to the wonderful world of collecting..

Nice cues...

Let me ask, did you buy them because:
a- good price aka cheap
b- liked the look of each cue
c - combo of both...

Real nice .If you got to star pick up custom cue look in to webb cues and Gilbert .Very good work for the both of them.. ;)

Joe, I bought the DP cue because I didn't like (trust) the way a dealer was going to handle a problem with a Longoni cue that I had bought through the mail. I was dealing with him in person at this time. The DP was $100 more and I liked the way it looked so I gave him the $100 and left. I didn't much like the way the Longoni felt and played anyway, it was too heavy to the front.

The Adam was a gift from my best friend and, as such, is priceless to me. It was well used when I got it those 20yrs ago. Great playing cue.

The Kornele and Klein I got because I liked the way they look and the price was good. $635 for the Kornele with 8 ebony points, genuine ivory inlays and dash rings with matching ivory joint protectors and 2 matching shafts. $375 for the ebony Klein with turquoise & silver rings, ivory joint w/ G-10 epoxy pin and 2 matching shafts. It plays so nice, I've made it my primary cue.

I like the way you took the pictures in a basket, good idea, I love the screenname even better. Let me ask you a question, is there anyone on your list for your next cue?? If so what are the reasons you choose this cue/ maker, if not to you just buy what you like when you see it?

Jim

Currently I have several cuemakers I'm considering including Sherm, Michael Webb, Murray Tucker, Keith Josey, Madison Bob, Mark Bear, Bryan Mordt and maybe Jim Buss. I'm also looking to have a cue designed for me and I may have Steve Klein do it. I like his work and he lives about an hour from me, it would be pretty easy to meet up and discuss ideas and options.

I am prone to snap something up because I like the way it looks. I'm gonna try to do one, maybe two sub-$1000 cues a year. ( Subject to spouse approval & permission  ) A pool table is next on the list.

Not a bad list right now Murray Tucker is currently in retirement, but trust me if he ever comes out you should JUMP to get on his list. Their are others on your list that are more then qualified, good luck. As far as the table goes I think it's a good idea, I mean what good is 12 cues if you have noplace to lay them for pictures, you might even have to throw them all in a wicker basket ;)

Who was the dealer?

Your Cues are very nice, may I ask who was the DEALER who treat you right.

That is a good thing to know. That there are good people in the Mail Order Business….
:D

The online business was Hawley's Billiards in Dallas, Texas. I ordered a Longoni cue, the one with octagonal grip, from them. When it arrived I discovered a scratch under the finish. I drove 4 hours to Dallas, I lived in Arkansas at the time, to see what I could do about getting the problem fixed. The guy I talked to, a guy named Joe, immediately struck me as a shady character. He promised to repair or replace the cue but didn't want to give me any kind of receipt showing I gave the cue to him. That's when I traded up to the DP.

After the cue business was taken care of, my feelings were proved right after Joe invited me and my friend to his home to look at some cases, 314 shafts and other cues, stuff they had at the store. He wasn't the owner of the business and was trying to take business away, probably with stock he took from Hawley's. I live in the Dallas area and Joe is no longer with Hawley's which is probably a very reputable place to buy or order from.

Great looking list of names you got there and for some reason one of them really stands out :D

Congrats on your new addiction.

kornele cue

:p Did you get the Kornele cue from Steve Kornele? He is a good person to deal with and very fair in pricing.I have one of his earlier cues when he was with Greg Willingham and building WW cues, one of the best playing cues i have ever owned.I must concur with the Gilberts also,I have an ivory jointed one and it plays great,I am keeping those two and my South West cue.

Ok...you've convinced me to add Andy Gilbert to my list of potentials. Geez with all these cues I want it might be time for a career change....hmm...pool shark is out, I get beat too much...maybe a bank robber or gigolo...tuff decision.

BTW, Steve Kornele was very pleasant to deal with. I'm keeping my eye on his site in case anything else pops up that I have to have.

Great set of cues Zim. How does the Espiritu play?
The Espiritu plays great! It has a lot of sentimental value, so it comes out of the case on very special ocassions. I really like the Dominiak, DZ and Prather cues. On The Hill has an Espiritu that I'm really interested in adding to my collection in the near future. If you see anything on www.onthehill.net, let me know and I'll see what I can get it for.

I appreciate the offer, Zim. Currently, my cue buying is on hold. My wife's birthday is coming up with Christmas just a month behind it. As I'm no big fan of sexual frustration I'll be saving my money for those occasions. ;)

Knowing women, probably a wise decision. Plus, if you please her there, more cues are in your future :D
