What is the best break cue for the money, i just ordered a Fury Break Cue and have heard rave reviews about it I will be posting a review on it when i play with it on saturday, i bought it new for 190 canadian pretty damn good deal for the price. So what other break cues do you use?

break cue

I think there is no substitute for a Mace. Ever since I bought mine, I have fallen in love. A good friend bought a Sledgehammer and has already traded it in on a Mace. He said they were pretty poor quality and just didn't hit as well. I put a phenolic tip on it and it hits and jumps like a dream. I would highly recommend investing in a Mace.

Around my area in Michigan, alot of people are jumping on the Predator BK bandwagon. I broke with a friend of mine's a couple times and it was nice :)

I tried breaking with a SledgeHammer, but with the round tip, i kept on miscueing. I do have a phenolic ferrule/tip combo on my viking and like it very much :)

i did what Earl told me he did. i had a break shaft made for my Cuetec Cue, and it hits em pretty solid.

i've never been convinced the cue is the main thing.
its the cueist, not the cue.
its the magician, not the wand.
its the indian, not the bows and arrows.
its the player, not the equipment.

i've had both custom and production break cues, i'll stick with my Cuetec with the break shaft, thank you.

yeah, and i laid a copy of my Bible on the table overnight a couple of weeks ago. all of a sudden i think its come around, the balls are cooperating a little better. the demon that possessed my Gold Crown IV (Pazuzu, the demon of the southwest wind) has decided to flee, i believe.

I currently am using an Omen custom break/jump which IMHO is one of the best ones out there. I also have a sledgehammer that I used to swear by until I got the Omen. The sledge is a good cue but I just couldnt get the power and control I get with the Omen. The omen also has a longer jump section which is better for me because Im somewhat short. I have never tried the Mace but Ive heard nothing but good things about it. Im thinking about getting one though, Ill just have to sell the sledge first.

OK, I give up. Where can I see a Mace break cue? I used google and didn't find anything.

Sledgehammer breaks 9-ball very very well. However, I do struggle using it on barbox eight ball. My fault I am sure.

I have a slegehammer, and I agree to a point with this statement. I absolutely love my SH for 9ball. As far as 8ball on a bar table goes, I find that I have to let up on most tables. It can be very easy to get control, yet still alot of power. Too much power on a bar box 8ball rack will actually slow down the balls and wont break as well as letting off a bit. Depending on the rails of course. Still sounds like a cannon though!

I have a predator BK I bought it before all the phenolic stuff became popular...I have a very good break reguardless of what I use, but when playing tournaments or gambling its all about piece of mind.....

Lucasi Break/Jump and I've beaten the *** out of it! It's a solid cue for the money ($200 retail) and it absorbs most of my frustrations!

Break Cues

I would have to put in my vote for Andy Gilbert J/B! I'm about to custom order one. The thing about a Gilbert J/B is they are incredible players as well! I'm going to order mine with two shafts so I can put a phenolic tip on one and a regular tip on the other!

That being said, you're looking at a minimum of $350 for a new one.

That's american too!, my 190 CND for my fury i think was well payed and cheap new. can't wait to start with it this Saturday!`
