Ozone recently started carrying these Longoni cases:

I have NEVER seen a better exterior or travel case, however, the interior concerns me. It seems clear to me that it would be inappropriate as an every-day case unless it is stored perfectly upright. If I wanted to store it flat, there would need to be support along the complete length of the butts and shafts. I would have to modify the interior myself with memory foam or some other appropriate material. I would probably take notes from gun cases.

Does anyone on here have experience modifying the interiors of hard cases? If so, what materials have you used? What glues? What methods?

Without guidance, I would probably just cut rectangles measuring 1/2"W x 30"L x 2"D for the shafts and increase the width to 1.2" and depth to 3" for the butts. Has anyone done anything similar?

I swear if these cases had better interiors, there would be no better cases in existence.

Thanks for the post. I recently tried to buy a haliburton , but it didn't work out. Looks like there was a good reason.

I have seen the Longoni cases at BCA in May, and tought the INTERIOR was an After THOUGHT. Honesly it would not last in Arizona with the Dry HEAT, and would dry out and become like old FOAM DOES!

Where i work we build shipping containers for helicopter parts. Some of these containers are lined with high density foam which we order already cut to shape and contoured to fit the part. We then just glue them in with 3M spray glue or contact cement. I would think that with a little study you should be able to order the exact shape and contour needed to improve the interior of this case.

In Dallas we call Kirkland Sales for all of our foam needs, you should have someone similar in your area.
