What best pool cloth that will play similar to the simonis/ECT at tournaments...Basically asking for most common cloth that leagues and tournament aRe played on . I would like to install on mine table Thanks ! Looking to buy too if recommended cheapest websites/amazon/ect

Simonis 860 is most common. If your table plays a little slower then you could go 760 to compensate.
I think I'm going to disagree with that. I guess it depends on where your leagues are commonly played at. But most bars in small pool rooms that have leagues use Championship Mercury Ultra.

The APA Nationals in Las Vegas uses Mercury Ultra. At least they were to the best of my knowledge.

Check with the places where you commonly play and ask them.

We are lucky enough not to have APA in our area but almost all of the tables in our playing area get Simonis.

Only place you see much MU is at the Nationals. Next to no one uses it anywhere near my area. It is good cloth for the $.

What places use for leagues and tournaments will vary for room to room, you would have to ask what is in your area, unless you are talking about national events and larger events. But those larger events use what they are sponsored by, usually Simonis or the Predator stuff now. My area has like 10 table setup options and of those there are probably 5 different cloth types they use between them, you need to go by your area.

All the diamonds in my neck of the woods have simonis I would assume it's 860hr. I also own this cloth and it's legit.

Since you mentioned cost I will say I played on a friend's table that had freshly installed Andy's cloth. It played a little faster than my 860hr but he said he paid around 200. YMMV

I was surprised to read on the Virginia Beach room‘s website (for upcoming 14.1 tournament) that all their Diamonds were covered with 860. Watching the videos from the last tournament, I had assumed from the playing speed that it was 760 (especially since V.B. is a coastal town). Brand new cloth obviously plays faster. I swear the 760 I had installed last year now plays slower than on those videos.

988 is around 300bux on Amazon now. Still that's about 80-90bux less than HR. Even less on AlieExpress(about 230shipped). We have it at my local place and we all like it. It is a little faster than HR i agree.

better to pay a little more now and cry just once then have to cry every time you play.
Or better yet start out with the cheap stuff and learn to do it yourself. Then when you move on to Simonis you can do it for half the cost.

Andy's 988 is great! It's slightly faster then simonis but plays great.

I know WY tournaments prefer this cloth, not sure about other areas.

ANDY's US dist. is in WY so that might help. It is great cloth. Every bit as nice as Simonis.

I would go with simmonis 860, only for the fact that is what all other clothes are measured against, so you know how any other cloth will play because it is compared against the "gold standard". A perfect example is right there in this thread with lots of people stating Andy 988 plays faster than simmonis 860..... you won't hear very many people compare andy 998 to championship mercury.

860 is good cloth for sure but its not the only game in town. Both ANDY and CPBA are excellent cloth's that sell for less. I've played on all of them so i do have a legit take. My problem with 860 is its not real fast when new and if you live in a humid area it gets SLOW fairly rapidly. My local room has had 988 on for almost a yr and its wearing great and still has better speed than 860 of the same age.
