Just wondering? Who is the best Marathon Gambler you've ever seen or the best match you have seen-famous players or not.
This is my story, no names will be used to protect the players involved, for copious amounts of substances were used during this game.
In about 1993, I saw four local snooker player's(one was a past Canadian Champion), all were century runners, play cutthroat for a dollar a point. The game was insane. It started about 9pm on friday night. When the pool hall closed at 3am they packed up and went to the other pool hall that was open 24 hours.
Anyways, around 11am they decided to head back to the first pool room(better tables) and continued the match until closing time, then back to the second pool room where they played until noon. At that point the game broke up because one of the guys needed to catch a bus back to his wife, and the other three had to be at work the next day.
Over 40 hours straight!!!! And two of the players wanted to continue.
Cliff Thorburn also told me a few stories about his road playing days, some of his matches supposedly lasted over 50 hours.
And I thought I was dedicated. My feet get sore after 4 hours.
