Joss is a nice cue .the S/P is great..

For production cues I have had both Helmstetter and Schon. I have to say that I loved them both and if I were to go back I would probably snatch up an older Helmstetter. In my opinion it plays just as well and costs a lot less.

The link I pasted shows my old Helmstetter as well as the one I bought my wife. Both were fantastic. My wife had the HE-05 and I had the HE-10

For high volume production, I vote for Joss.

For SP's, I've always been partial to Huebler.

For low volume "production," this gets to be a tricky definition, but Schoen and Schuler would be my choices.

This is a tough question. Everyone will have their favorite. I have to say Viking or Joss, for even lower end production I have to say Players and Action are decent. Lets not forget Fury which I was informed are selling like hotcakes!

Many good quality production cues out there. Schon, Mezz, Joss, Mcdermott and many more to be mentioned. What's nice and what's good is really a personal preference.

My personal list

High Volume Productin cues (in that order)

Schön
McDermott
Joss

Low Volume Production Cues

Eurowest

Meucci

The only Production Cue I have ever OWNED, (past tense) was a Meucci Power Piston 2. I was not happy with the Cue, as the Shaft has way too much flex.

It was not the new Fangled Black Dot, it was a Red Dot that I bought maybe 5 years ago. Sold the Cue for what I had in it, and the New Owner has the same complaint.

The Mucci Cue is seeking a new home again. :)

Have hit a few balls with a couple of Predators, and they seem to have a very nice hit, but they are kind of pricey… ;)

for high end i like schon, for a great hit and look in the mid range i like the pechauer line. falcon is good also. lucasi is good and so is mcdermots of the lower end - eb series. but, the one low end cue that does very , very well for me is the excaliber by cuetec. durable, hit well and last a long, long time.

I've never had a problem with the way a Cuetec feels or hits either, but does the excaliber have the same sticky shaft problem going through your fingers as the Cuetec? You can only use so much of that spray cleaner/glide stuff.

I love my HOF-2 Meucci. It's no longer a stock Meucci, as I replaced the slick wrap with a black leather stack wrap, and retapered the black-dot shaft to be WAY more flexible. It's quite similar to the Meucci Original cue a friend has, but I kept the tip at 12.75 mm, after having slimmed down to about 11 mm for the taper area... flex with power and scads of desired spin, when I want it... :-) Love the hit, love the feel, love the grip of the leather. Wish they'd come out with something like it... I've never shot with another cue that felt quite like it (except another cue whose shaft I also took down) .... Is my cue a "production cue"? Hmmmm.... maybe not, been tweaked a whole doggone lot.........

You retapered the shaft into an hourglass shape?

one day you will hear a big *SNAP*.

Thanks,

Jon

Actually, it's not an hourglass shape. The retaper starts from about 4 inches from the tip and goes for about 12 inches for a uniform 11 to 11.2 mm ( I suppose, I rigged up a primitive caliper of sorts to make sure the taper in this area is uniform) and then gently retapers back up for the next 4 inches or so. It's plenty strong, and plenty flexible too. I've been shoorting with it like this for several months already. No problems, glides perfectly through my gloved hand, draws the cue ball with ease, makes stop shots a breeze. I asked a pro who plays sometimes at Chris's in Chicago to play with it a bit and to give me his honest opinion and he shot some pretty weird shots with it and came away with a great bit grin on his face... "Nice".... I kept the original 12.75 mm tip and didn't take it down, as I had been told that a larger tip was more accurate, and would help me pot more balls. While I don't know if that is really true, I thought I'd experiment with this concept. What I have now is the results of testing 4 different versions. By the way, this cue moves the cue ball around the table with ease, and I love the hit. I have a Talisman hard tip on it too...

As for it snapping, maybe if I stomp it or something, but I break with it, and so far no problems... The degree of flex is about the same as the shaft on a pre-red-dot Meucci Originals cue a friend uses.
