Best sealer for new shaft?

Just got a couple of great cues, and want to keep them lookin new.

What is the best way to seal a new shaft so it will keep lookin new?

Clear sealer, but what type and how?

It should already be sealed. The reason most shafts get ugly fast is people sand them to clean them removing the sealer. The best advice is to never use anything abrasive to clean your shaft. Just wipe down with a damp cloth.
