Hello All,
First post here and I am a bit ashamed that it is a self-serving solicitation of sorts, but I am just trying to pool every resource I can. I apologize up front for this.
I have been dreaming of opening my own pool hall since I was kid. It requires a lot of capital to open the kind of pool hall I hope to. I'm not here to ask you for any monetary contributions so don't worry about that.
I have designed a lot of promotional retail products that I plan to sell in my pro shop of the pool hall. Because the pool hall may still be a while before the physical doors open, I decided to try to sell some of the retail items first to try to build some capital that way.
The first product I decided to produce and sell is a deck of cards. I have a Kickstarter project underway to help me get the cards printed. I will be printing them on 100% plastic card stock. They will be printed by the United States Playing Card Company on their Bicycle Prestige stock. I have been joining new forums recently to help grow some awareness for the project in the demographic I'm shooting for - basically you guys. Regular pool players, dart players and poker players as these are the three main activities I will be offering in my pool hall.
I've designed the deck to reflect this trio of activities. You can check it out at the link below. If you are unfamiliar with Kickstarter, the basic gist is this. You pledge for one of the rewards listed and if the project succeeds you get what you ordered delivered by a specified date. If the project fails all orders are dissolved and nobody pays anything. There is really nothing to lose by placing a "pre-order" for a product you are interested in. If it works out you get your product, if not you aren't out a dime.
So if you want to check out the project page here it is. If you want to support the project all you have to do is spread the word or pledge for one of the rewards. If you have any questions you can email me through the project page and I will more than happy to answer you questions.
Again I apologize for this solicitation, but I am desperate to make my pool hall a reality. It's been 24 years and I just cannot build the capital I need at my current job.
I appreciate any help you guys can offer by spreading the word about this deck or by pledging for one of the rewards. Any little bit will help and if I ever get my pool hall built you will be a part of it. I will have every backer's name etched into ceramic tiles that will adorn the pool halls walls.
Thank you.
Chuck
