Billiards download from Direct Connect?

Sometime ago I saw a thread here about downloading pool billiards *.avi files from Direct Connect. I saved note in which DC HUB it was available, but I lost it somewhere :(
Whoever posted that info please respod!

Is there any alternative? I've managed to download a few matches and stuff, but most of the time the speed is 56K speed and there is no open slots for what I'm looking for. Just curious is there is some other programs and places to download such?

Go to www.cnet.com and check out most popular downloads. You will see which p2p networks has top # of downloads. Propably kazza, but I don't recommed. Ares is cool,easy to use and you don't have to even share anything.
 
I'll never go back to Kazaa. It's crap in my opinion. I know of just about all the P2P applications, but I haven't really found any pool related videos and stuff on them. DC++ is very nice for videos and stuff, but the download speed sucks and most of the slots are full.
 
Kazaa sux. My friends installed Kazaa and he had a banner page opening up at his internet browser every once in a while because of Kazaa. It was very annoying. And no pool available at Kazaa.

DC++ (@ poolandb...) is very good if you have a fixed line with fast connection, because the downloads take quite a long time. You probably want to leave your computer on for 24-7 if you want to finish the downloads. Remember, usually when a slot opens, you can occupy the slot as long as you want to or as long as the user is online.

How can you expect downloading files of 100MB-1GB in a blink of an eye ?

If you have an ftp-connection, send me PM. I have quite lot of pool and willing to trade via ftp. I can't put up an ftp server but download and upload works fine...
 
It's not that anyone is expecting downloads in the blink of an eye. I use my friend's business DSL connection when looking for videos to get. However, all the open slots I managed to get on only give out a max of 10KB/S which sucks. I do have a good bit of hosting and bandwidth that I bought to run a site on and never got around to using it. Might setup an FTP for people to add some videos and would probably give me a better download speed as well.

Yes. People are reluctant to give out bandwidth to people they don't even know. And in DC++, you can decide how many slots the upload bandwidth is divided into. There are users who give 20 slots, but with 2-5kb speed each and people who give 1-2 slots but with nice 30-50kb speed. And you can see how many slots are each user giving out. Maybe you should try downloading from people who have a fast connection and only a few slots. Takes a while to queue there but might be worth the wait.

Inform me if you set up an ftp server, I don't have a computer at home but I have roughtly 30 cd-roms full of pool videos and can upload/download at work. Too bad I cannot install any p2p software at work, firewall and administrators don't like 'em :) Especially if you have one-pocket videos, inform me right away !

Sometimes I do manage to download a 700mb movie in 1,5 hours! I'm on cable 3megs down, but a lot depend whats on other side.
I do have lots of pool including phenomenal one pocket match of Efren vs Palmer from this year DCC!
I don't know how to set up FTP server, but I'm willing to do so, if someone will explain that to me! :cool:
