Blud: Apparently Paul Drexler uses black linen wrap on some of his cues. What do you think about that?

Alot of cue makers use solid black. It's all about matching. If you don't want leather and you need some thing solid to compliment the cue. Black irish linen.(BINGO)

Hi jer, I refuse to use black linen. it's crap, and cheap looking after a bit. It's gets off color and is not constantice in dia., when it's made. Crap. Won't use it. If you want black, go with black leather pig skin, wears, and looks great for a long time.

Why is this so? Is plain black linen made differently than the one with white specks or any color for that matter?

The negative I see is that it tends to take on varying shades and that makes it look cheap like Blud said. It also tends to take on a nylon look unless it is really pressed and polished better than most do with normal linen. I don't want anyone to think I put nylon on my cues. If you want solid black linen make sure the guy presses it really flat so it looks less like nylon.

Hi VH,
I don't know for sure. But I do know it's not of the same quality as bk/dbl/white or other mixed colors. Just looks cheap.....
