Blud's CNC Taper Machine

Been visiting and picking up some great tips and ideas for quite a while on this forum. Thought it was about time I posted my experience with this machine. Dec 16, I went to Leaky, TX and picked up the CNC taper machine, early Christmas present I picked out myself. After a very plesant visit with Blud and his family, I returned home to Northeast LA. Mounted the machine on the table saw, which Blud had the holes drilled and taped ready to bolt the taper machine down. Using Bluds program to turn a couple of shafts that were close to being ready for final turn, ran the program and was very pleased with the results. Since then I have wrote my own programs using simple G code and running Mach2 which is installed on the computor. G code is very simple to write(Retired, 42 years in plumbing trade, thats how easy it is) and you can make it do what ever you want it to do. Results are great in my opinion; Couple of shafts I turned to 13mm, started with 800 grit (not mounted in lathe) by hand and no hard pressure. Its that smooth to start with. Turned some shafts to 2nd cut and they actually have a shine to the wood. Butt turning the same results. I have the Deluxe Cue Smith and this machine now takes care of the hard work which will let the lathe probable outlive me. One last note, spindle speed and feed rate can be changed during the tapering operation. Hope I didn't bore anybody with this.

I have had one on order since November and was supposed to be the first on the list to get one when they are ready. I can't wait, I believe this will be a great addition in my shop. Glad to hear how well they work.

Thanks for the plug, Bob.
Chris is 4th on the list, when I put him on the list, he was first, but it was my mill list, not the saw, my mistake. Sorry for that. Never the less, the 15 saw fixtures I have sold, are going out upon my return from, the Hopkins show. just waiting on the computer guy, who had to have stints placed in his heart to get back to work.
Will do better on deliveries from here on. Really.
