Bobby Callahan, obit

Cuemaker and craftsman Bobby Callahan passed away at 75 on October 6th, 2014. He was well known in the North Alabama and Southern Tennessee area for his cues and cue repairs. His signature cue was a ball turned down for the joint. He worked out of his shop for over 20 years at Steve's Cue & Grill in Huntsville, Alabama.

That is sad news for the pool world here in Huntsville. Bobby was a pleasure to be around.

Here is a quick story about Bobby. I had some repair work done by Bobby a few years ago. After he replaced some tips and cleaned some shafts for me the wife and I played for a few hours with the new tips. Her stroke was all wrong. Bobby came over with a coke bottle and showed her how to stroke in and out of the bottle to help her stroke. We were on our way out the door and Bobby came up to her and said,"Don't forget your coke bottle big-un." I almost died laughing and she never said a word. We still talk about that every time she goes to the pool hall with me.
