BobCAD V21 vs V23?

Alright, I have used BobCAD V23 and Mach 3 to do all the CNC work I've done so far. That happened to be on a friend's cnc machine though. I now am getting my cnc set up finally and I have V21. So I guess my question is....how much different is V21? I have it licensed and running, but it just seems to be a lot different and maybe even more difficult to create g-code in V21. Maybe I just haven't worked with it enough or don't have it setup quite right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would also be interested in getting V23 as that is what I have worked with if anyone happens to have one they don't need.

Thanks!!

Since you said "any help" I'll chime in.

I am getting ready to buy a CNC. I haven't quite decided on wether to buy one or build one. Most likely I'll be using BobCAD even though I used MasterCAM back when I was a Machinist.
My friend uses BobCAD in his machine shop. I asked him about BobCAD and what he thought of it. He said he likes and uses it for all his CNC machines. He went on to say the makers of BobCAD promised him the world on the new version but didn't deliver. His major gripe was the Post Processor did not work right (not exactly the way he said it). I can't remember exactly what the problem was but I think he wasn't able to use his old code. He said he is sticking with the old version which I believe is version 2.1 This is the version I will be using.

Since it appears you are starting out fresh I would say to go with the latest version. You will be working out the bugs with BobCAD and your PP anyway so you may as well go to the latest and greatest.

If you have any specific questions let me know. I can run them past him. I know several hundred machinists and if he's not the smartest one I know, he's darn close.
