Books . . . .

Two of the best are Byrne's Guide to Pool and Billiards and Ray Martin's The 99 Critical Shots in Pool. Both are easy read's and will help anyone at any level.

I strongly recommend The Pro Book by Bob Henning. The majority of the book is a set of well-diagramed and explained standard shots (60 or 70 iirc). The shots are broken into several categories including standard pots, safeties, kicks, kick safeties, and banks.

However for banking instruction you can't beat Banking With The Beard by Freddy Bentivegna. Search about the book here on AZ and you will see I am not alone in thinking this is a GREAT book.

You can actually preview both of these books by using Google Books. As with most stuff on Google books you don't get all the pages, nor can you print them, but you can read some of them and get a feel for the style.

I own 99 Critical Shots and love it, and was previewing 2 or 3 of the Bryne books recently. They look great, as well. I plan on getting them as soon as spendable funds allow.

(Banking With the Beard is on my short list of books to get, too!)
