With a Scruggs 4 point going for a freakin' gazillion dollars now, and Frey being the one who used to build many of them, can someone please explain to me how this cue has not sold?

PM if you must, but I just have to know because this seems like a steal to me. If I weren't: a) poor, and b) not a cue collector, I'd have bought this cue hundreds ago.

I think its just a matter of Scruggs Vs. Frey as the name on the cue. Scruggs being more popular and well known, whereas Frey is not.

That is a pretty cue and I am very surprised no one has jumped on it.
Afterall, a Frey SP is running for about half the cost of this custom cue and with no wrap.

I have an exceptionally nice ENGLES Elephant Ear 1x2 case, brand new , black in color that I just bought. I did not need the case but it was so nice I bought it. I paid $800.00 for it,but I would have bought the cue if I had seen it first. Would you like to trade? Thanks

I'm not getting it. Are you really saying that this cue, cue #1, is not worth $700?! I can see it not having brought the original asking price of $1500 not being an almighty scruggs and all, but $700, how can it not be a killer deal at that?

I'm asking in all seriousness because I've recently returned to the pool world and am astounded at the thousands of dollars people are throwing around for a cue these days. I used to be able to get a decent used Black with ivory ferrules for $500 bucks and now it'd cost me as much as the laptop I'm typing this on. With people willing to pay over a thousand dollars for relatively plain cues by one or another maker, this just seems ridiculously low for something that has to be unique. Maybe I'm wrong, is Frey making a run of 200, #1 cues? or is this the only one?

Like I said, PM me if you need to, anyone. If I'm missing something simple here and you're just protecting bushwhacker's feelings by not posting it publicly, let me know. I just am not getting it.

No no no! This cue is WELL worth the 700, hell if I had 700 to spare I would be all over this cue in a heartbeat.

What I am saying is this...for instance...say Frey makes this cue new for 1500, and Scruggs does likewise, same cue style and all for 1500. Which would sell first? The Scruggs I say because Tim's name is more well known by most than Bob Frey. It takes a person with a deeper knowledge of Tim's work, therefore knowing Bob helped make alot of Tim's cues for many years to appreciate Bob Frey's cue.

That is all I am saying...and like I said...WELL WORTH THE 700!

Unfortunately what this shows is that people on this board right now are broke or just not in the market for this style of cue. If it was a Gilbert, I would say it would get more attention, just because they are hotter on here.

It all goes back to that "hot or not" thread that I was dragged over the coals for making a post.

Whatever Frey would make for one price would not be the same from Tim. It would be the same quality but since Tim has raised his prices you would be getting less for the same amount. You would get something similar but definately not new.
