break and jump cue question

I'm looking into buying a jump break cue but i was thinking since i have an extra butt from my old playing cue, i could just buy a standard maple break shaft thats $32 and buy a nice jump cue. Would buying a cheap jump break cue be better or should i stick with my plan? Im on somewhat of a budget so i didnt wanna spend more than about 100-150

The question comes down to if you want to have to carry three cues with you and will your cue perform as good breaking as a jump break cue? There is no right answer, it is just up to you.

If you play league of any kind, you might check your league rules on using a separate jump stick.
It's minor, but I built a break/jump for a customer who was surprised he couldn't unscrew the butt handle to use his jump cue in APA.
My 2 cents,
Gary

Your solution is totally fine, ass Chris says it depends on your prefrences.

Dedicated jump cue is way better.
In my opinion, you will never get a cue to do both things really well. There will always be a compromise in performance with break/jump cues.
