if 8-ball becomes the main game in the usa on ESPN, hopefully to see the balls easily we will adopt the british colours 7 yellows and 7 red balls with one black, now that would be great to see on the tube, talk about patteren play!

Id like to see 8ball played with any color balls, I love that game!

8-Ball

What? 8-Ball on ESPN ? When is this supposed to happen? 8-Ball is my favorite next to straight pool, I'd rather play it anyday than 9-Ball. That would be too cool, I remember in the 80's the Fiat challenge where Steve Mizerak played either Jimmy White or Steve Davis. They played snooker, 9-Ball and 8- Ball and I thought it made for good TV. B

If you used brit colours, how would you call the pocket? That ball to this pocket? It would be easy to follow on tv though...

You must be a uk 8ball player. I've tried snooker a few times but have never seen uk 8ball table in person. Is that game played anywhere outside uk or its former colonies?

Why do you think this is a British thing?

Florida leagues have been using these colors for their 8 ball leagues for over 25 years.

Lots of pool halls and especially bar boxes, use these un-numbered colored balls.

I've also seen One Pocket matches played with nothing but yellow balls.

I'm fine with red and yellow, but when in the hell did the 4-ball become pink!!

I believe Matchroom initiated the pink 4-ball for their tv matches. It is easier to distinguish it from the 2-ball on tv. They also use a brown 7-ball.
