Long story short... The tip on my 20 year old helmstetter came flying off tonight and I picked up a house cue that hadn't been used since the table was installed.
Instantly I started playing well again.. turns out the cue I had been playing with all my life had warped pretty badly and the years of sanding (my own fault when I was younger) had basically removed the taper from the shaft and made it extremely thin... Never been so happy with my game than I was at the end of the night. I've been playing probably 6-8 hours a night for the last 6 months trying to get back to the level I was when I was younger and getting so frustrated as to why I wasn't improving... all that practice paid off though and the second I picked up a straight cue, evena house cue, it was so satisfying.
Sorry to ramble.. Just so happy atm lol.
Time to go cue shopping.
