ok, i'm thinking about buying an 8' Brunswick Contender with the goofy claw-foot legs -which i hate- for $300.00. i don't think i can lose at this price but i know nothing about these tables. it's in nice condition and not too far away. what do y'all think?

If I remember correctly, the Contender Series has historically used U-56 cushions. They are garbage.

That table looks to have some gouges on the rails.

$300 seems like a fair price, for someone looking to get a cheap table. Add in the cost of new cloth, the labor to move the table, and then delivery and set up... Suddenly, that $300 doesn't seem like such a good deal. If you are looking to flip this table, you might break even, or maybe make a couple hundred.

If it has U-56 rubber, my immediate instinct would be to pass.. However, I have modified a set of these rails to accept k55 cushions. I was surprised by how well that table played. It was nowhere near as nice as a Gold Crown, but it was definitely better than the day the table was made.

Ok,. Thanks that's what I needed to know. I'm going to pass. I'll call the guy with the two GCIII tables and try to get one for 500.
