Brunswick Glendale

I found one of these locally, like new.
The owner claims it has a gold crown base/frame.
I looked on Brunswick's web site and found no mention of this.
Fact or salesman fiction?
TIA
Tim

Glendale or Glenwood? I could not find a Glendale model on the Brunswick website. If Glenwood, I call BS as it is a 7' table and the Gold Crown does not come in 7' size.

Yes it is a Glenwood.
But it is available in 7', 8', and 9'.
But I still can't see them putting GC underpinings in it.

I see that now. 7' 8' and 9' available.

I highly doubt a furniture style table would have their top of the line frame structure. Based on the foot print alone (in looking as pics), I won't think the GC frame would even fit.

Fiction! There is no way a 3200.00 table is going to have the same frame as a GC. One is a commercial table and the other is a home furniture grade table that will more than likely sag. Not to mention the pockets will be huge on the furniture grade table.

Even if it did, the frame itself is much less important than how the rails are constructed and attached to the frame. A good frame is essential to a good table but won't mean anything if the top half is weak.

Thanks guys, I figured it was salesmen BS.
Doesn't make sense to put GC goodies underneath and sell it for $7k less than your flagship table.

I have an 8 foot glenwood with simonis 860 and the table plays beautiful.
Only negative or maybe positive for some is the pockets are very forgiving

Cessna,
Good to hear. The one I found is the 2 tone and looks very nice.
It's like new and I think I can get it for $500.

Go for it, you wont be sorry. As I said, only negative for me is the very obliging pockets, but truthfully at age 73 would not want to go back to the tight pockets of my Brunswick regina. I still have runs in the 30's on the glenwood, doubt I could do it on a gold crown. Its a solid good looking good playing table

Well, I bought it.
Got a good deal. Table is in very good conditon.
Needs new cloth as the guy actually plays.
He needs it gone in a week before his 9' Diamond is delivered. (Bastard:grin:)

Congrats on the new table! Can you define "good deal"?

GOOD SHOW!!! Slap some simonis 860 on her and you will have a
fine table. Get a good table mechanic to set it up
