hey,

A buddy of mine is moving and he's not a pool player but the house has a table in it, I think it's a Gold Crown IV. The table is located in North San Diego County, California.

HE wants to sell the table and all the accessories shown (rack, bridge, balls, brush, house cues and 2 Mizerack 2-piece cues) with the buyer to disassemble and transport it. The table is nice as you can see in these photos, I've played on it and it plays fine. The table has a return tray installed (as you can see in the photos) but has drop pockets installed. He has some boxed metal rails that are part of the ball return system but it's not installed and he can't confirm how complete the parts are. He also thinks he has the pockets that go with the return table, but it plays just fine as a drop pocket table.

Lastly, the side skirts are missing (as you can see in the photos) and they are certainly missing for good.

Can anyone confirm it's a GC IV and any ideas what he should ask, I don't have a clue?

If you are missing the side skirts, you aren't going to get much for it. What is there looks very nice and well cared for, but without the complete package, you're severely diminishing its worth. I've seen these tables sell on this site and others for anywhere between $1000 and $2000 in good shape. I've seen a few sell for around $2500 that were in imaculate shape and completely re-worked. The market for used tables is very low right now. Definately a buyers market.

Just my opinion.

Greg,

Thanks for the solid info, very helpful. Sounds like if he can get a qualified person to break it down & take it away he may be doing well?

I think you might get some better "professional" opinions in the Mechanics section. Those guys know there stuff.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for the table due to the lack of the side skirts. Still a pretty table though. I love the 4's.

Good Luck

Greg
