HEY WHATS UP? OK i see alot of people don,t like the buildoff ideal well how about just building whatever level cue you desire and give it to be auctioned off for a childrens fund that way theres no compeition between the builders. also even if you have some stuff laying around then you could donate them to. such as cases are overseas cues and so on we could auction everything off and give the money are just donate cash. are if some like the build off we could still have it along with this so everyone could be involved that wants to and have it the way they like. one thing has been brought up to me that i want to clear up i do not in any way want people to think i have said that if you don,t get involved it will look bad on who ever don,t .this is not about that its about giving if you wish to for a good thing and if you can,t are don,t want to be involved i,am sure everyone will understand. if anyone had these thoughts i,am sorry you took it that way. another thing i thought was put everyones name in a bucket and pull out names for a team build like 3 builders in each group one does one portion of the cue they decide to build as a team then the other team member builds another portion and so on . these type cues would be worth alot more on a action and become collector cues in the future for sure. we still welcome all ideals so please give them and we will post the best for a vote again i,am sorry if anyone took my thread to heart only get involved if you wish to because thats what makes it mean the most in the end because some people might have there own reasons not to be involved and i respect everyone of you guys and i hope you do me also because i,am just trying to help give to the children with whoever might want to also. THANKS MADISON BOB CUSTOM CUES

Count me in, just as soon as the format is decided. I'd also be glad to help with in any way I can! Greg Sullivan is an old friend and road partner of mine. I'd be glad to ask him for some help if we want to do it in conjunction with the Derby City Classic. I usually donate a couple of cues each year to deserving charitys and benefits. I'm also building and donating, a NICE cue for the winner of the "Master of the Table" award at the Derby City this year and plan to do it on an annual basis. This "kids charity benefit" idea certainly seems to have merit! I'd be proud to be involved!

just more hot air!

Bob, I think that is the best way to go. Let people build what ever they want. If you don't do that then you need to do like the sports do and put a cap on it. Spend so mutch and that is what you will sell that cue for. If someone wants to order one like it, that's what he pays for it. Like $1000.00, and that is what this cue maker gives you for a thousand dollors. Count me in and let me know when it starts. Butterflycues

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WANTING TO GET INVOLVED!!! MADISON BOB

I think this will probably get much more participation that a true build off competition would. Not only smaller cue makers could get involved, but also larger manufacturers that would not be interested in a build off. Also cue dealers, retailers and anyone that has a cue or case they want to donate. I really favor asking the Major forums if they would give a Forum thread that you could post the links to what is up for auction. Run the Charity drive for a few weeks having several cues on at a time. I also think the title for each auction should have some wording in it like: "(Cuemakers name) Pool Cue for Children's Charity".
This way when searching each time you would only have to do an ebay search for Pool Cue for Children's Charity. I think it is a great idea and am looking forward to seeing you get all the details worked out. Keep us posted.

Good idea Chris, I think all the cues should be sent to one seller. That way there will not be a lot of people trying to take advantage of all the buyer's good nature. That person should be a really good photographer and very high profile. The high profile part, will be a way for many of us here, to hold him accountable. I would not want to volunteer anyone, but there are some that I can think of, that I would vote for. I also think, that non cuemakers, that have extra gear, could donate it to the cause.
