Bumper for cheap cue (non threaded)

A friend of mine started playing in pool league recently and gave me his cue to fix up for him. It was in pretty rough shape but I got all the major issues taken care of and the only thing left is the rubber butt cap is missing. The cue is question is a harvard sports cue, I am guessing its pretty cheap but he really like the design on the butt, its pretty unique for what I am assuming is a cheap cue.

My question is where can I get a replacement butt rubber for this cue? I checked most of the usual big name sites, however they only have threaded butt caps. This cue doesn't have threads in the butt. I measured the diameter of the opening and it seems to be the standard 3/4". Will a threaded rubber butt cap still work in this cue?

Including a picture just because I like the design (aesthetics) of the cue.

After measuring this with more precision i found the opening is .66"

I think I found something that will work on one of the websites and ordered it.

Another thing that can work- last year i found the local grow shop/beer maker supply has all sorts of industrial stuff for a wide range of projects.
At the front of the store they stock white or black rubber corks in various sizes. I bought a few for later use. Rubber spin-grinds pretty easily in a collet, with a coarse wheel and water base coolant. So easy to reshape & precisely size for "whatever".

If you have a lathe you could just plug the butt and machine it to fit whatever decent bumper that you have.
